Mega Scrafty brings Intimidate and balanced 115/115 defenses, giving it a foothold in some matchups, but Intimidate's value is diluted in singles and its 58 Speed leaves it perpetually reactive. The Dark/Fighting weaknesses to Fairy, Flying, and Bug are harder to play around without a partner, keeping it firmly in niche territory.
Playstyle:Evolve into Mega immediately to trigger Intimidate and leverage the elevated bulk. Play as a pivot/stall threat: use the Attack drop to blanket physical attackers, then pressure with Crunch and Close Combat while running Taunt or Knock Off to prevent recovery and setup. High Special Defense lets it absorb most special hits after Intimidate weakens physical pressure.
In doubles, Intimidate's value doubles since it hits both opponents, making Mega Scrafty a genuine turn-one physical pressure valve with 115/115 defenses behind it. However, 58 Speed and 90 Attack without standout doubles support moves keep it a situational pick rather than a format staple.
Playstyle:Lead as Mega to immediately strip both opponents' Attack with Intimidate. Pair with a special attacker or bulky support to cover Fairy/Flying blind spots. Use Fake Out coverage from a partner, then apply Crunch and Close Combat pressure while staying alive with its bulk. Taunt shuts down opposing Trick Room or healing.
