Fighting/Ghost dual immunities paired with 110/90 bulk let Annihilape hold its ground in singles. Rage Fist ramps damage within a battle, and Defiant punishes any stat-lowering attempts. With no Mega slot needed, the team's Mega can go elsewhere — Annihilape runs on raw stats alone as a durable physical wallbreaker.
Playstyle:The core idea is to invite hits using Ghost/Fighting immunities and let Rage Fist accumulate over the course of a match. Vital Spirit (or the in-game Defiant variant) prevents sleep, while the sand/hail immunity via its ability removes chip damage concerns. Ghost-type moves handle Psychic and Normal walls; Fighting coverage punishes Steel, Rock, and Ice types. The key constraint: Rage Fist resets on switch, so staying in at the right time is the main skill expression.
In doubles, Annihilape's main selling point is Defiant punishing Intimidate users like Incineroar — an Atk +2 swing is real in a meta where Intimidate chains are common. Rage Fist stacking is much harder in doubles due to forced switching, and its offensive coverage is narrower on the doubles field. A niche role at best.
Playstyle:The playbook centers on Defiant: switch into an Intimidate drop to immediately get Atk +2, then threaten with Ghost and Fighting coverage. In doubles, the strategy relies more on raw bulk and dual-type pressure than Rage Fist stacking. Needs speed support (Tailwind/trickroom counters) to compensate for 90 Speed in a faster doubles field.
