Primarina

Primarina sits at 24.51% usage in singles, ranked 4th, making it one of the most deployed special attackers in the format. Water and Fairy coverage hits a wide range of targets, and 126 Special Attack paired with 116 Special Defense forms the offensive and defensive backbone of many mid-to-late-game cores. The 60 base Speed means it almost always moves last, so it leans on Calm Mind and its held item to drag battles into attrition it can win.

Playstyle：Torrent accounts for 95.3% of ability picks and Liquid Voice only 4.7%, so Torrent is effectively the singles default. Moonblast at 24.8% and Sparkling Aria at 21.7% form the dual-STAB core, Aqua Jet at 16.0% patches finishing odds against weakened or slow targets, and Encore at 11.8% alongside Calm Mind at 6.7% builds the tempo-control axis. Leftovers at 39.1% and Sitrus Berry at 24.8% together cover about two thirds of sets, both leaning into sustained recovery; Chesto Berry at 14.6% and Focus Sash at 7.4% address the minority of games that need Rest to cure status or a one-hit survival pivot.

Doubles usage sits at 3.11%, ranked 44th, placing Primarina on the fringe of the format. Liquid Voice jumps to 98.7% of ability picks, so doubles builds revolve almost entirely around Hyper Voice. Moonblast falls to 23.7% and Sparkling Aria drops off the list; Protect at 24.5% replaces it as the second-most-picked move, and Hyper Voice at 24.7% is what turns normal-type sound into Fairy coverage under Liquid Voice.

Playstyle：Item distribution in doubles is heavily concentrated: Leftovers at 55.5% plus Sitrus Berry at 18.9% together exceed seventy percent. Life Orb at 13.4% is the minority choice that maximizes damage output, and Mystic Water at 6.8% boosts Water-type pressure. The top Modest spread 21/0/17/4/0/24 at 17.6% pushes HP and Defense up to handle the multi-target pressure doubles dishes out.
