Politoed

Politoed sits at a 0.09% usage rate and rank 171 in singles, placing it firmly in fringe territory. Its value comes almost entirely from the Drizzle-boosted Perish Song archetype: it uses Encore to trap opponents, forces switches, and then sings them out in three turns. The strategy collapses against any team that can answer Perish Song or punish the free turns it gives up.

Playstyle：The singles set is a support build, not a rain abuser. Encore traps, Perish Song counts down, Whirlpool chips while Perish ticks, and Rest with Chesto Berry (68.3% items) refills sleep turns. The Drizzle Rock at only 14% confirms that rain extension is not the goal; a single Drizzle activation is enough to let Perish Song begin its work.

In doubles Politoed reaches 3.53% usage at rank 38, making it a standard rain setter. Drizzle is taken at 99.8% in doubles, confirming that the team wants the weather itself, not the Water immunity. Protect, Weather Ball, and Perish Song form its core toolkit.

Playstyle：Weather Ball under Drizzle becomes a 100-power Water STAB that gives Politoed a real offensive presence, while Protect buys turns for both itself and its partner. Sitrus Berry at 68% covers its bulk. Perish Song breaks stall wars, and Hypnosis or Encore lock down key targets. The 14% Life Orb builds push Weather Ball damage further.
