At 0.33% usage and rank 114 in singles, Maushold barely registers in the metagame. Its pure Normal typing grants full immunity to Ghost but a Fighting weakness, and the 74/75/70/65/75/111 base spread gives it a meaningful 111 Speed tier while leaving almost no defensive slack. Technician, selected on 87.2% of sets, is the anchor that turns low-base-power moves into real damage and the only reason the Pokémon sees play at all.
Playstyle:Population Bomb at 24.7% pairs with Wide Lens at 78.8% to maximise accuracy while Technician lifts each hit to acceptable damage. Tidy Up at 17.7% doubles as a hazard-and-speed cleaner, Bite at 15.2% patches the Ghost and Psychic blind spot, Baton Pass at 8.5% hands off the boost to a teammate, and Double-Edge at 4.2% sits behind Technician as a high-power fallback. The pattern is to lead with Population Bomb pressure, convert a kill or a switch into a Tidy Up or Baton Pass, and let the next mon cash in.
Doubles is where Maushold lives, with 5.47% usage and rank 28. Protect at 23.3% and Follow Me at 23.0% form the support backbone, Super Fang at 11.2% shreds a key opponent's HP directly, and Population Bomb at 10.5% with Wide Lens at 37.8% still functions as a Technician-boosted multi-hit. Friend Guard at 63.7% overtakes Technician here because in doubles a single ally's damage reduction is the whole point of the Pokémon.
Playstyle:Maushold is a textbook support tank in doubles: Friend Guard trims ally damage, Follow Me and Protect rotate to absorb single-target hits, and Super Fang crunches bulky foes into KO range for partners. Chople Berry at 37.5% patches the Fighting weakness on demand, Focus Sash at 19.7% hedges against priority-heavy teams. Below 5.4%, Taunt, Feint and Beat Up are narrow metagame tweaks rather than core options.
