The author adapted last season's #28 Mega Charizard X team, building around the loop "Stealth Rock → Yawn pivot → Dragon Dance Char X sweep." Sturdy Archaludon almost always leads to guarantee rocks, with Rock Tomb plus White Herb so it can flip a speed war against Glimmora. Hippowdon, the self-proclaimed MVP, walls physical attackers and yawns under Leftovers + Slack Off + Protect. Char X keeps the original spread, relying on chip from rocks and sand to sweep after one DD, with Roost handling Aegislash and priority. Scarf Mimikyu cleans, scouts Hisuian Samurott, and uses Trick or Curse to dismantle setup. Snorlax covers Ghost spam and patches the Primarina/Delphox matchup while still passing Yawn, and Mega Froslass is the secondary mega versus Hippo, Primarina, Gyarados and Archaludon cores. Weak points: Basculegion without Mimikyu, defensive Archaludon, Energy Ball Mega Glimmora, Aegislash, and SD Lucario.Build article →

The author finished 610th at 2220. The build started from Archaludon being too strong to skip, paired with a Taunt/Will-O-Wisp/Encore Mega Delphox as the setup lead; since that pair lacked breaking power, a Calm Mind Primarina was added to close games. The remaining holes, stopping Basculegion/Blastoise/Gyarados, handling Mega Charizard X, breaking stall, and dealing with Floette, were covered by Scarf Meowscarada, Garchomp, and Scizor respectively. Mega Delphox leads often, chipping with burns and Magic Fire so teammates move freely while also trading head-on; it's strong at setup, slugfests and cleaning. Archaludon sets Stealth Rock and gets a hit in, is absurdly bulky, has great typing synergy with Delphox for safe entry, and carries Roar to avoid being a setup fodder. Primarina tanks and stacks Calm Minds, flipping would-be setup bait. Garchomp beats stall but fears Yawn and poison-sBuild article →

The author finished 637th. He had climbed to 2200 on a Mega Lopunny core but stalled out against too many Primarina and rough Lopunny mirrors, so he rebuilt by swapping the Mega slot to Mega Pinsir. The new theme is speed plus Swords Dance: Mega Lopunny brings a STAB Mach Punch priority hit, while the late-added Pinsir, after a Swords Dance, hits scary hard with Quick Attack and uses Stomping Tantrum to break Bulk Up Corviknight. Both turn poison and burn into setup fuel, and Facade also pressures stall. Scarf Garchomp saw little play but delivered when used. Corviknight runs Taunt, Bulk Up and Leftovers, letting others chip first so it sweeps. The Focus Sash Basculegion reuses last season's reliable set. Archaludon went Timid this time, still setting Stealth Rock and getting one hit in. Standard selection is Archaludon plus a Mega plus Basculegion, with Corviknight and Garchomp as needeBuild article →
Build article →
The author admits he was short on time and didn't refine the team, riding luck and synergy to crack the three-digit ranks. The starting idea was a small test: on a Charizard Y plus Corviknight core, swapping Corviknight for Conkeldurr — which also clears hazards — keeps firepower while still cycling. Mega Charizard Y runs Will-o-Wisp, Roost and Solar Beam to stay bulky and win the Lopunny matchup; Umbreon is a defensive wall with Toxic and Foul Play that doubles as a Basculegion check; Mega Venusaur is a special-attacking set. Conkeldurr brings Drain Punch, Mach Punch, Defog and Earthquake, removing Stealth Rock aimed at Charizard while hitting hard and outspeeding Hippowdon, and Archaludon sets rocks and answers Starmie, with Choice Scarf Garchomp as the Ground and speed slot. He's candid that it's a rough build that won on luck and matchups, but going nearly undefeated in the 2100s sugBuild article →
The team is named for its Garchomp, Mega Gyarados and Hawlucha. Unburden Hawlucha isn't strong on its own, but with Brave Bird, Drain Punch, Taunt and Bulk Up the usual physical walls can't stop it; once it eats its berry and triggers Unburden it outspeeds even Scarfers and fast Megas, making it the team's number-one finisher. The bulky Primarina, Bellibolt and Rotom that Hawlucha can't dent go to max-Attack Mega Gyarados, which removes them with Ice Fang, Earthquake, Power Whip and Dragon Dance. Max-speed Sash Garchomp lays Stealth Rock with guaranteed action, and Dragon Tail Archaludon phazes and chips the whole team. On the final day the author found Gengar, Clefable, Sylveon and Meowscarada hard to handle, so Mega Delphox and Basculegion were swapped for physical Mega Lucario, which breaks Sylveon and Umbreon, and Misty Terrain Primarina, which denies Yawn even on the switch and beatBuild article →
This is a matchup-offense team built around Dragonite and Lopunny as twin face-up threats. Mega Lopunny runs Swords Dance, Mach Punch, Megaton Kick and Close Combat as the physical ace and usually comes out alongside Slowking. Slowking with Leftovers carries Sludge Wave, Psychic, Flamethrower and Freeze-Dry as a special tank that handles the team's problem mons Sneasler, Floette and Scizor. Sylveon has the highest usage, with Leftovers plus Hyper Voice, Magical Flame, Yawn and Protect; nearly every Dragon gets thrown at it, as do Lopunny, Charizard and Scizor teams, and its Yawn-Protect loop is genuinely annoying. Multiscale Mega Dragonite is the Mega slot that breaks the Aegislash and Venusaur that Lopunny fears, while Scarf Basculegion is the second wincon, usually saved to spam Last Respects at the end. The team struggles with Mega Charizard X, Sneasler paired with Mega Floette, and SBuild article →
This is a Mega Lopunny attack-cycle: keep pressuring with Lopunny's main moves, and against bulky walls like Venusaur or Skeledirge, switch to Toxic Spikes plus Dragonite and Aegislash to poison them down. When Toxic Spikes got answered by the field, the author rebuilt around several setup sweepers instead. Lopunny runs Fake Out, High Jump Kick, Thunder Punch and U-turn, with turn-one Fake Out scouting info almost risk-free. Calm Mind Primarina hard-punishes Hippowdon, the mon most often switched into Lopunny; Bulk Up plus Taunt Corviknight handles the walls Lopunny can't crack as a second setup sweeper; and Mega Delphox is the second Mega, using Will-o-Wisp and Magical Flame for pseudo-bulk and Psyshock plus Encore to beat setup, covering the steels Lopunny struggles with and being one of the few answers to Mega Meganium. Archaludon leads and checks Basculegion and Mimikyu, while a FocuBuild article →
Build article →
Because Mega Floette's usage at offline events was sky-high, the author decided to anchor the team on a Mega that clearly beats it, settling on Mega Scizor for its boost-plus-priority, recovery and solid resistances. Mega Scizor runs Bullet Punch, Knock Off, Swords Dance and Roost, strong into Mega Floette and the Mega Lopunny that grew common later. It pairs with Leftovers Garchomp, which switches into Fire and removes Charizard and Volcarona quickly with Rock Tomb or Stealth Rock. Those two dislike hard physical walls, so Nasty Plot Rest Wash Rotom is added to break stall mons like Hippowdon, Umbreon and Toxapex as setup fodder while giving a Ground immunity. The back Mega is Calm Mind Sub Mega Floette to cut Dragon coverage, and paired with Basculegion's Quick Turn it lands and removes Archaludon regardless of ability. Quiver Dance Volcarona handles steels and the Scizor mirror, and SBuild article →

The author's starting point was using Mega Froslass to manipulate the opponent's lead selection, then breaking through with Mega Delphox in head-to-head matchups. He noticed that Mega Froslass scares Garchomp off the field and bluffs a screens or setup lead, which lets the rest of the team punish those reads. Mega Delphox crushes Gengar and most general matchups, while Garchomp masquerades as the screens/setup partner and acts as the dedicated Stealth Rock setter against Bellibolt and Charizard. Meowscarada and Primarina both serve as matchup-fixers, the former handling Basculegion and Hippowdon, the latter helping Delphox come in safely and walling Scarf Garchomp and Scarf Meowscarada. Mega Froslass with Blizzard, Shadow Ball, Ice Shard and Taunt shuts down Espathra/Clefable setup teams. Toxapex was added last to plug Aegislash, Mimikyu, Ceruledge and Primarina. The author's praised strength is the lead pressure and easy wins, while Leftovers Aegislash, Spell Tag Mimikyu and Sash Meowscarada remain the main holes.Build article →
Will-O-Wisp Hex Gengar covers a wide range and beats a lot of matchups, so the author made it the Mega anchor. The first draft paired it with Wash Rotom for Garchomp, Scarf Basculegion as a sweeper, Kingambit to cut Dark/Ghost coverage, and Sash Garchomp plus Lopunny, but Gengar proved too frail, Meowscarada was heavy on the whole team, and Scarf Basculegion was too slow. Drawing on top M-1 Gengar builds, the author rebuilt with a bulky Gengar, swapped Rotom for Corviknight to fix the first two issues, cut Basculegion, and moved Garchomp to a Choice Scarf for speed. Slowing Gengar made enemy Gengar a problem, so Mega Blastoise was added to handle it and Lopunny was dropped, with Hisui Samurott rounding it out to chip while spiking and make setups with Encore. This gives both a Gengar cycle plan and a Samurott-plus-Blastoise matchup-offense plan; it looks weak to Meowscarada but Gengar suBuild article →

The author was stuck around 1900 with a Glaceon-based team, then found a Ceruledge-lead build that happened to feature his favorite Ceruledge, a familiar Skarmory and a fated Mimikyu, and took it as the base. Sash Swords Dance Ceruledge leads, sweeping off Weak Armor plus Swords Dance, with the Ghost/Fighting coverage of Poltergeist and Close Combat proving great and handy for blocking Lucario and Lopunny sweeps. Cursed-charm Mimikyu likewise wears teams down behind Sash and Swords Dance, with Shadow Claw stealing the odd game on a crit. Mega Blastoise is the Shell Smash sweeper and just mindlessly sets up against Archaludon, while Shuca Berry Empoleon packs Vacuum Wave specifically for Clefable and Glimmora. Garchomp lays Stealth Rock and Spikes plus Dragon Tail to grind down stall cores like Venusaur, Umbreon and Skeledirge with chip, and Mega Skarmory is the backup ace with Swords DanBuild article →

The author originally built around a bulky Mega Gengar abusing Will-O-Wisp + Hex with Shadow Tag, paired with Hippowdon and Umbreon for a status-based semi-stall cycle. Mega Florges covered water/special threats Umbreon hates, Skeledirge filled in vs Volcarona and Mega Mimikyu, and male Basculegion was added last specifically to handle Delphox. In practice the ghost-type overlap, Meowscarada matchup, and the awkwardness of leading Mega Gengar into Garchomp pushed him to swap Mega Gengar for Mega Venusaur, whose Leech Seed cycle felt so stable he abandoned the original concept. Umbreon runs Toxic to break opposing walls and pairs with Skeledirge against Aegislash. Mega Florges and Basculegion are selection-pressure pieces that bait steels and grass/water/dark mons into Umbreon's poison and Venusaur's seed. He admits both Megas lean special, so Umbreon could shift bulk to Defense, and the team's weakness is losing Gengar's hard win condition.Build article →
This began as a manual Psychic-Terrain team of Armarouge, Mega Alakazam and Mega Blastoise, but the author found manual terrain too hard to pilot, cut the field tactics, kept the gimmicks, and invested every member heavily into Speed. Mega Alakazam runs Nasty Plot and Encore to break stall behind Magic Guard; Mega Tyranitar replaced Armarouge, popping Multiscale just by switching in and beating even Substitute Dragonite with Dragon Dance plus Rock Blast. Ninetales sets Aurora Veil to open for the setup Megas, surviving Hippowdon's Earthquake to OHKO back, and brings Rain Dance to weaken Charizard Y and boost Blastoise. Hyper-fast Corviknight is favorable into both Floette and Garchomp, PP-stalling with Taunt, Bulk Up and Roost. The standout is Choice Scarf Chesnaught: at 190 Speed it outspeeds and OHKOs Mega Lopunny, Mega Starmie, Lucario, Glimmora and Charizard Y, with Bulletproof blockBuild article →

The author had been running Lopunny since last season, so they built around Mega Lopunny, aiming to hold leads through favorable matchups and bait the opponent's lead with intimidating faces. Lead Archaludon (Draco Meteor, Steel Beam, Thunderbolt, Rock Tomb) clears Stealth Rock Garchomp, denies Gyarados and Charizard their setup, and OHKOs Mega Gengar with its fang; dying fast also boosts Basculegion. Basculegion is the real ace, with Mystic Water Aqua Jet plus Fake Out and priority support hitting hard. Sash Swords Dance Aegislash was a later add to handle Mega Venusaur. The author admits Mimikyu barely got brought and that slot needs work, and the team struggles with Hydreigon-Aegislash, Mega Starmie, and Mega Dragonite.Build article →

The author decided cycle play wasn't winnable at the current ladder level, so he built around "luck and setup moves" to refuse interaction. Inspired by his old Rotation Battle experience with Swagger+Hypnosis Gengar, he picked a non-Mega Focus Sash Hypnosis Gengar as the centerpiece—the Sash guarantees two Hypnosis attempts, and opponents waste resources playing around Mega Gengar. Sitrus Archaludon leads to set Stealth Rock and disrupt, while Mega Blastoise sweeps after a single Shell Smash. Mega Skarmory was added as a second Mega for matchups Blastoise struggles into (Meowscarada, Floette); in practice Skarmory+Gengar became the real core. Scarf Basculegion cleans up once Rocks chip checks, and Quiver Dance Sub Vivillon is the cheese option when both Megas look bad. Weaknesses: he admits Raichu and Tapu Koko returning will gut the team, and shortened sleep turns often cost him games.Build article →
