The team started from the idea that a Choice Scarf Sneasler could get good outcomes against the opponent's lead Choice Meowscarada, whether moving first or switching in later via U-turn, backed by baseline switch-ins for common threats. Garchomp sets Stealth Rock and Spikes with bulk to tank rival Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, Primarina and Archaludon's big hits; Gengar runs Focus Sash with an ice move, disguised as a possible Mega pick to snipe the opponent's lead Garchomp; Kingambit trades hits and cycles rather than breaking walls; Scarf Sneasler answers Meowscarada; Mega Dragonite is speed-tuned past Mimikyu while respecting max-speed Archaludon, with bulk to tank Garchomp's follow-ups; Slowking stalls and runs a bulk nature to soften Umbreon's Foul Play. The author calls Delphox their strongest, most dominant piece, but admits Shed Shell costs them against physical Aegislash and Ceruledge, and the team sBuild article →
The author has long been known as a Scovillain specialist, doing well from Season 1 through 3 before collapsing late in Season 4, so for Season 5 they built a bulky-cycle team around Mega Scovillain, their signature pick. Mega Scovillain opens with Protect to mega evolve safely, then wears foes down with burn damage from its ability while chipping in steady damage of its own. Tyranitar handles the special attackers opponents send in against Scovillain, setting Stealth Rock and Knocking Off items, while Corviknight tanks physical hits and checks Garchomp. Mega Gengar traps threats with Shadow Tag before finishing with Shadow Ball, Clefable shuts down setup sweepers while stalling with Wish, and a Choice Scarf Garchomp patches the Fire/Steel weakness and cleans up late-game. The author says team selection and in-game play are the hardest part, but the build's strength is handling many kindBuild article →
