The author committed to mastering a single Mega this season and settled on Dragon-Dance Mega Charizard X for its sweep potential. Garchomp pairs with it: originally Focus Sash, but it kept getting blown up by Mega Lopunny's Fake Out + Triple Axel, so it became Choice Scarf as a finisher that also outspeeds +1 Charizard. Primarina, the author's signature mon, runs max-HP/Def Sitrus with min Speed, using slow Flip Turn to safely bring Charizard or Garchomp in, while answering Hippowdon which the core otherwise struggles against. Mega Lucario is the backup Mega to pressure Archaludon and disguise Charizard as Y-form; Rotom-Wash replaced Corviknight after Mega Delphox proved too threatening, with SpD investment to live Mega Dragonite's Draco Meteor. Hisuian Samurott handles Starmie and Basculegion while spiking. Weakest matchups: Protect/Slack Off Hippowdon (never fully solved), Icy Wind Gengar, Meowscarada, and lead Primarina.Build article →
Build article →
The author kept last season's Mega Blastoise + Whimsicott core, then added Hippowdon as the Stealth Rock setter, Scizor to handle Meowscarada, Mega Gengar to deal with Primarina, and a Choice Scarf Hydreigon for coverage. Whimsicott pulls double duty: Sub/Leech setup partner for Mega Blastoise, and the answer to Garchomp/Hippowdon/Umbreon when Mega Gengar is brought instead. Mega Blastoise runs a "soul" Hydro Pump so that sand + rocks + a Shell Smash boost can drop Floette in one shot, while still leaning on Dragon Pulse most of the time. Scizor goes full attacker to break sand-sponge cycles with U-turn and constantly catches opponents off guard. Hydreigon went physical with Head Smash purely to punish Charizard. The author thinks the build was solid—he repeatedly brushed Champion class—but he blames his own play for missing top 300, and frets that a Gholdengo-heavy meta is hard on Whimsicott teams.Build article →

The core is Mega Glimmora alongside Hippowdon. The author valued Adaptability Mega Glimmora for breaking value-walls and collapsing enemy cycles without needing to set up, then paired Hippowdon to switch into Garchomp and feed sand plus Stealth Rock chip for the Megas. Glimmora and Hippowdon share a Water weakness, so the build adds Leftovers Aegislash to absorb special Primarina and Scarf Hydreigon to outspeed and remove physical Mega Starmie. The back Mega is Mega Meganium, strong into hard-to-stop setup sweepers like Mega Gyarados and Mega Blastoise, applying pressure with two high-power moves. A Haban Berry Garchomp rounds it out as a second answer to Charizard's Dragon Pulse. The upside is Glimmora punching through bulk with no boosts; the downside is its poor switch-in profile and middling Speed, making it a bit demanding to pilot.Build article →
Build article →
Build article →
The author started from Mega Gengar, the piece he found strongest when facing it last season, then added the well-meshing Umbreon and the format's best Garchomp to form the common power trio. Since that core is popular and heavily teched against, he added three answers: Mega Scizor that's stable into Mimikyu and Meowscarada, Primarina that shuts down Yawn setups and setup Garchomp, and Basculegion that walls Fire-type Megas while applying heavy selection pressure. Mega Gengar runs Will-O-Wisp plus Clear Smog and no Protect, so leading is shaky, but in exchange it can switch into Calm Mind Floette and Clefable. Umbreon uses Wish to heal the back line, with move priority Wish over Yawn over Protect over Foul Play. Primarina runs the rare Misty Terrain plus Encore to stop Yawn chains and turn-one Swords Dance. The author notes Basculegion's pressure makes opponents predictable, but he isn'tBuild article →
This started as a Mega Lopunny team but turned into a dual-Mega plan: Galarian Slowking acts as a pivot whose typing complements both Mega Lopunny and Mega Sableye, while Ditto copies the opponent's Mega so two of the author's own can Mega normally. He realized Mega Sableye's Magic Bounce walls Floette and breaks Hippowdon's Yawn loops, which tied the build together. After agonizing over the last two slots, Milotic solved his water and Hippowdon problems — bulkier than Primarina, with recovery, burns, Mirror Coat and phazing — and a no-setup Dragon Dance Garchomp holding a Haban Berry handled both Charizard X and Y with effectively no weakness and the bulk to survive two hits. Lopunny makes plays with Fake Out plus High Jump Kick or sets up with Dragon Dance. The author admits the team came together only in the final days, gained 250 rating on the last day, and regrets not locking it in Build article →
The plan is to use strong Pokemon to deny the opponent's Stealth Rock while setting up your own, then make a back-line Sash piece and a rock-weak threat shine. The core is Mega Clefable, which bounces Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce while laying its own, leads almost every game, and guarantees actions versus Mega Gengar. Skeledirge runs Unaware plus Yawn plus Protect, tanks most hits to lock opponents into a Yawn loop, and is solid into Steel Megas and Corviknight. Focus Sash Garchomp acts as a setup sweeper and revenge finisher, and thanks to Clefable it avoids rocks and keeps its Sash. Corviknight uses Thunder Wave and Bulk Up to make threats easier to handle. Mega Greninja is the second Mega, specifically for Mega Glimmora teams. The author's main takeaway is recognizing the build style he's good at, but he regrets stacking too many unstable factors like paralysis, sleep turns, and criBuild article →
This is a port of the author's favorite attack-cycle build from SV Regulation H, framed around three pillars: a high-power pivot attacker, a physical cushion and a special cushion. In the Champions pool those become Huge Power Mega Starmie (Aqua Break, Quick Turn, Aqua Jet, Psycho Cut), Corviknight as the physical cushion (Body Press, U-turn, Iron Defense, Roost) and Bellibolt as the special cushion (Parabolic Charge, Slack Off, Toxic, Soak). Scarf Meowscarada is the revenge killer, Sash Swords Dance Garchomp is there to fight Archaludon, and Mega Glimmora covers the Meganium, Charizard and Floette the core can't, with Needle Guard cracking Mega Lopunny's knee. The glaring weakness is Archaludon itself: its Mirror Coat punishes nearly all of the team's special attackers, leaving the author boxed in all game.Build article →
A quirky baton-pass build that finished 462nd, which the author admits is rough but fun to pilot. Past stat-pass teams got shut down by Taunt, Encore or Roar in one move, so this time Mega Clefable is the relay piece, with a Substitute plus Hypnosis Espathra leading to force the chain Espathra to Clefable to sweeper. Corviknight uses Lash Out to convert stat boosts into damage as the main ace, with Incineroar as a backup specifically for Skeledirge; the last two slots are a Light Ball Fling plus Toxic Spikes Greninja and a Moody Scovillain to handle Mega Lucario. The author notes Clefable often swept solo, but overall power is too low, Dragon Tail users wreck the plan, and the Espathra set is genuinely bad and not worth copying.Build article →
The author built this team around a Shell Smash Blastoise running Water Spout, spotted while digging through the box. Orthworm ignores Ground moves via its ability, so it switches safely into the most-used Garchomp and uses Baton Pass to set up a free Shell Smash for Blastoise, whose post-boost Water Spout hits hard enough to break through dedicated walls. Max Speed Blastoise also pressures opponents. Focus Sash Aegislash is the team's strongest piece, with a Ghost/Fighting coverage that rarely whiffs and a Sash that opponents struggle to read, while Mega Glimmora's Adaptability damage shreds bulky cores. The author admits offense is the strength but Garchomp is a clear threat, handled by leaning on Archaludon. The last slot Scovillain was pure matchup bait and never got brought.Build article →
The concept is simply to win cleanly, and the team started from Mega Dragonite, which has excellent lead presence. Multiscale Mega Dragonite runs Draco Meteor, Air Slash, Flamethrower and Roost, so bulky it eats nearly any single hit and mostly leads to fight matchups. Hippowdon is the partner with Earthquake, Yawn, Slack Off and Stealth Rock, covering the Dragons Dragonite fears and cutting Electric coverage. Swords Dance Aegislash (Poltergeist, Shadow Sneak, King's Shield) is the breaker, strong into the Fairies that Dragonite and Lopunny draw out, while Scarf Thunder Punch Meowscarada revenge-kills Gyarados, Basculegion, Hisui Samurott, Greninja and Mimikyu. Mystic Water Primarina invests in bulk specifically to handle Sub Nasty Plot Mega Delphox, and SD Drain Punch Mega Lopunny mops up Meowscarada and Umbreon while also beating the Mega Charizard Y plus Defog Corviknight core. The author placed 519th (peak 2259) with a build around lure pressure, baiting out matchups it beats. They first tried a Floette core but it flopped, since the Steel types it lures in are too strong and Aegislash kept punching through the whole back line. So they swapped to a Mega that lures things it actually beats and landed on Mega Blastoise, which draws in meta-relevant but stat-light picks like Primarina and Meowscarada. Around it sit Gengar and Corviknight to hunt those low-stat threats, Garchomp as the Ground slot, and a Choice Scarf Meowscarada. They were convinced Aegislash would decide the whole season and tuned the team to break it and its support (especially the Hippowdon plus Aegislash pairing), which grew common late-season, vindicating the call; movesets were built specifically to deny opponents the draw. The long second half is the author venting that Champions is less fuBuild article →

The author's team-building rules are: no half-baked walls, win with raw power, end games early, and avoid shaky-accuracy moves for consistency. The first lock was Choice Specs Hisui Samurott, whose Ceaseless Edge spike-stacking plus Sacred Sword punches through most things, backed by Sucker Punch and Swords Dance for ongoing pressure. Mega Glimmora leads to apply pressure with Needle Guard reserved specifically for breaking Mega Lopunny, while Sash Whimsicott uses Prankster Tailwind to give the slow team speed and Encore to shut down setup. Mega Starmie is the Huge Power physical attacker, Corviknight tanks physical hits and does pivot control, and Bellibolt brings high special bulk plus Volt Switch and a Ground immunity to patch the team's Ground weakness. The whole premise is power plus reproducibility, dragging games into a favorable spot through play rather than luck.Build article →

The author finished 577th (2225), hitting their three-digit goal with a defensive cycle team built on Toxapex plus Meganium using priority and poison. It started purely from loving Toxapex, which is fully special-defensive and runs no item to dodge Poltergeist. Meganium is the physical wall, complementing Toxapex, beating Stealth Rock and Spikes setters, and packing a hit on Steel types. A Choice Scarf Garchomp picks off fast threats like Mega Gengar, while a Black Glasses Hisuian Samurott uses Ceaseless Edge to lay Spikes and covers Mega Starmie and Mega Delphox. A Shuca Berry Aegislash tanks Mega Lucario's post-Swords-Dance Earthquake and handles Floette and Umbreon; a Leftovers Galarian Slowking closes things out and stat-walls Psychic-carrying Floette and Volcarona. The author lays out matchup verdicts and felt-pick rates in detail, crediting the Aegislash's Shuca Berry and Speed invBuild article →
Finishing 595th at 2222, the author admits this team is an almost exact copy of a YouTuber's build, with his own contribution being the strategic write-up. His core point: the M-A meta is balanced and deflated with no broken units, so builds barely differ in power and weaker players can only win by 'shifting' their sets to make opponents misread the pace, then maximizing the one turn that buys. Here Archaludon, Blastoise, Basculegion and Mimikyu each run off the most-feared standard set. Mega Blastoise is the centerpiece, usually brought from the back, tanking a hit and trading while the threat of Shell Smash freezes opponents; the usual answers, Scarf Meowscarada and Primarina, aren't actually that hard to handle since Basculegion cleans up behind. His honest weakness: Basculegion barely saw play and the spreads weren't refined, and he recommends watching the original creator's videos fBuild article →
