What it does
Crabhammer is a Water-type physical move with 95% accuracy in Champions (up from 90% in the base game). The draw is its raised critical-hit ratio — without any item or setup, Crabhammer crits more often than a normal move.
That matters because a crit ignores the target's defense boosts and deals extra damage. Against something that has stacked Defense or used Iron Defense, a normal move gets walled, but a Crabhammer crit punches straight through.
The accuracy bump from 90% to 95% is a Champions change. Five percent looks small, but for a slow Pokémon that needs every hit to land, cutting the whiff risk on a key turn is a real upgrade.
Who runs it
Crabominable is the Champions carrier, at 15% usage. It's Ice/Fighting, and its main attack is usually Ice Hammer, so Crabhammer is the Water coverage slot — it hits things that resist both Ice and Fighting. It has high Attack and low Speed, so every hit needs to count, which is why 95% accuracy plus the high crit rate fits the role.
How to use it
Crabominable is slow, so it usually moves last. Under Trick Room that flips into an advantage — once Trick Room is up, it moves first, and Crabhammer's damage plus crit potential can take a foe out on the spot.
In doubles Crabhammer is single-target, so it never gets split and always hits for full power. If the opponent is leaning on a bulky wall that survives by boosting Defense, the crit is your built-in way around it, since a crit ignores those defense boosts.
For coverage, Crabhammer mainly handles Ground, Rock, and Fire targets that take double from Water. Crabominable's Ice attacks bounce off Fire and Steel, and Crabhammer covers part of that gap.
Tips & strategy
A high crit rate is not a guaranteed crit — it just bumps the odds up one stage. Don't bake a crit into your damage math, or you'll misjudge the kill range on the turns it doesn't crit.
95% accuracy still means a 5% miss. When the foe is low and you only get one shot at the KO, respect that risk — sometimes the safer line is a 100% accurate move instead.
Covert Cloak doesn't touch Crabhammer, because the move has no added status effect to block — it's pure damage plus the crit rate.
