What it does
Limber grants the holder full immunity to paralysis — Thunder Wave, Body Slam's secondary effect, contact-based Static triggers, all of it. Under Champions rules, paralysis halves Speed and carries a 12.5% full-stop chance each turn. For a fast attacker, getting paralyzed is effectively a death sentence for its speed tier.
The value isn't about one specific interaction. It's that paralysis stops being a planning variable at all. No need to carry Lum Berry as insurance, no need to play Protect on turns where you read Thunder Wave coming. The item slot opens up.
Who runs it
Hawlucha is the most relevant carrier. Base 118 Speed is the entire reason it threatens anything — High Jump Kick and Acrobatics only land first because Hawlucha is fast. Paralysis would cut that to 59, dropping it below most of the metagame. Limber here isn't an optional perk; it keeps the whole game plan running.
Liepard at base 106 Speed runs disruption sets that similarly depend on moving first. Limber lets it ignore Thunder Wave sources without burning an item slot.
Ditto copies the opponent's ability on Transform, so its own ability rarely matters in practice.
Stunfisk and Toxapex barely appear in Champions data and aren't meaningful Limber carriers.
How to use it
Limber is passive. You don't activate it; you just stop planning around Thunder Wave when your Limber Pokémon is in the matchup. When you see a team with Thunder Wave support — Thundurus, Regieleki, anything running it — your Limber holder can come in and ignore that threat entirely.
For Hawlucha, the sequence is: confirm no priority moves in the opposing slot, move first, hit hard. Limber is the silent condition that makes that sequence reliable even against teams carrying paralysis.
Tips & strategy
The freed item slot is the real upside. A Hawlucha that doesn't need Lum Berry can run Life Orb for extra damage or a different item entirely. That's a concrete trade-off you can build around.
What Limber doesn't cover: only paralysis. Burn from Will-O-Wisp, sleep from Spore, poison from Toxic — none of those are blocked. Against teams layering multiple status conditions, Limber holders still have vulnerabilities.
Contact immunity note: Limber also blocks paralysis from contact-based abilities like Static. You can use physical moves against Static holders without any paralysis risk.
