What it does
Healer triggers at the end of each turn: the holder has a 30% chance to cure an adjacent ally's status condition. No move, no item, no turn — just a passive probability check every turn.
A few hard limits: it only works in doubles (singles has no adjacent ally, so the ability does nothing). It does not cure the holder's own status. It does not cure confusion — confusion is not a formal status condition and is outside the ability's scope.
The conditions it can cure: Burn, Paralysis, Sleep, Poison, and freeze.
30% per turn sounds modest, but compound it over several turns and it adds up. A sleeping partner has roughly a 1-in-3 chance of waking up each turn-end due to Healer alone. Across a typical 2-3 turn sleep duration, there is a solid probability of at least one proc. The same math applies to burn chip: each turn that Burn is cleared before it deals chip damage is a net HP gain.
The mechanic is inherently swingy — sometimes it procs immediately, sometimes it never fires. You design around the expectation, not the guarantee.
Who runs it
Audino carries this at 76%. It is the canonical Healer platform. Audino's bulk lets it stay on the field long enough for the probability to matter, and its support kit — Helping Hand, Follow Me, Heal Pulse — means it is providing value beyond just the proc. With Audinite, it Mega Evolves into a much bulkier form while retaining Healer, making it a genuinely durable support core.
Aromatisse (6%) is a niche alternative, sometimes pairing its Aromatherapy role thematically with Healer.
Hatterene (2%) rarely runs it — not a primary choice for that Pokémon.
How to use it
Pair Audino with teammates who are specifically threatened by status — your offensive sweeper, your frail fast attacker. If they get hit by Sleep or Burn, the passive proc has a meaningful chance to clear it before the next turn.
The key is keeping Audino alive. Every turn it stays on the field is another 30% roll. If an opponent decides to status your partner rather than go for the KO, Healer turns that conservative play against them — the condition might just disappear.
Heal Pulse and Healer split the work cleanly: Heal Pulse handles HP recovery, Healer handles conditions. Running both on Audino covers both support angles without redundancy.
Tips & strategy
Do not build a gameplan around Healer as a reliable cure. 30% will betray you at a critical moment. The correct framing is 'free bonus if it procs' — treat every trigger as upside, not as a turn you were counting on.
Sleep is where the ability shines most. A 2-3 turn sleep becomes potentially 0 turns if Healer fires on turn one. That is a massive swing. Compare to burn, where the chip is incremental and a late proc still helps but is less dramatic.
Opponents will target Audino specifically to stop the passive proc — it represents a 30% threat every single turn end. Keeping it healthy and positioned safely is what separates good Audino play from just dropping it on the field.
