The author adapted another player's Dragonite + Mega Scizor build, swapping the original Greninja slot for Primarina — a typing that pairs better with Mega Scizor and widens the type-based defensive cycle so opposing Primarinas can't muscle in. The author's starting point was that even after the new unbans, Hippowdon + Archaludon still felt like the strongest defensive-plus-Stealth-Rock backbone, so the team was built around that pair. For the Mega slot he picked two high-power Megas that mesh with Hippo/Archaludon: Mega Floette as a Fairy Aura special breaker behind Hippo's Yawn cushion, and Mega Starmie as a Huge Power pivot/priority nuke that forces the opponent into predictable leads.
