What it does
Aura Wheel is Morpeko 's signature physical move. It's Electric-type when Morpeko is in Full Belly Mode and Dark-type when in Hangry Mode. Regardless of type, it always raises the user's Speed by one stage after hitting. 100% accuracy, no miss chance.
Hunger Switch flips Morpeko 's form automatically at the end of each turn — Full Belly to Hangry, Hangry to Full Belly. That means if you click Aura Wheel twice, you get an Electric hit on turn one and a Dark hit on turn two, then Electric again on turn three. You don't control the switch — it happens regardless of what you do.
The Speed boost applies every time regardless of whether the move KOs the target. Two consecutive uses get you to +2 Speed, which makes Morpeko faster than almost anything not running dedicated speed control.
Who runs it
Only Morpeko can use it, and Morpeko runs it at 97% in Champions. That's not a stat worth analyzing — it just means Aura Wheel is the reason Morpeko exists in the format. Morpeko is Electric/Dark typed, so both forms deliver STAB damage — neither turn is wasted.
How to use it
Click Aura Wheel on turn one. The Speed boost compounds into the following turns, and both Electric and Dark coverage find targets regularly. Electric hits Water and Flying types; Dark covers Psychic and Ghost types. The alternation means you naturally cycle through both coverage profiles every two turns.
In doubles, the type alternation creates a prediction layer. If the opponent has a Ground-type that walls Electric, the current turn might be the Electric form — but next turn is automatically Dark, which does threaten it (unless it also resists Dark). Track which form Morpeko is in and anticipate what the next turn's type will be when you're making target decisions.
Stack Aura Wheel with Tailwind support when you can. Tailwind plus two Speed boosts puts Morpeko beyond the effective speed tier of most opponents in the format.
Tips & strategy
Know the form cycle before the match starts. Morpeko enters in Full Belly Mode on turn one — Electric. After it acts, the form switches to Hangry. Turn two is Dark. Turn three is Electric again. Map this to the threats on the other side: if you need to hit a Psychic-type, you need Morpeko to be in Hangry Mode (Dark) that turn. If you need to hit a Flying-type, you want Full Belly Mode (Electric).
The main weakness is the early turns before Speed boosts kick in. At base Speed, Morpeko is not necessarily moving first, and a hit before it acts means the Speed boost didn't happen yet. Protect it with Fake Out from a partner, or sequence your lead so Morpeko doesn't take damage on turn one. Once it has two or three Speed boosts, the rest of the game is significantly easier to navigate because you're consistently moving first and picking your type freely within the natural cycle.
