This is a Doubles team from Season M-5 that finished rank 70. It's built around a bulky, physically-defensive Garchomp — with the meta leaning physical, its resistances and stats make it hard to knock out while it racks up Rough Skin chip, which the author found fun enough to build the whole team around. To cover Garchomp's Fairy, Dragon and Ice weaknesses, Mega Froslass hits Dragons, resists Ice, and adds screens plus a fast Blizzard sweep, while Kingambit hits Fairy and Ice and mops up with Sucker Punch; both also hold up well against Basculegion, which could otherwise blow the team open. Toxapex covers Ice and Fairy while chipping foes with poison, Garchomp handles the Poison/Steel types its poison can't touch, and the last two slots — Choice Scarf Sinistcha and Focus Sash Glimmora — were added to answer Archaludon-led rain teams and nanny/support squads. This is a short memo post: the author only ever played Singles, but breeding got much easier in Champions so he tried Doubles, scraping into the final Champion rank after two or three seasons, and calls that nothing to brag about. The team is a stock dual-weather template found online, so he says there is little to say about the build itself, beyond tuning Speed on Charizard, Pelipper and Archaludon to win mirror-match speed ties, while Swampert was built for bulk since it rarely gets sent out in mirrors. Pelipper and Archaludon are essentially locked picks, Charizard's rain-boosted Weather Ball is the kind of move that decides games outright, and Sleep Powder bails him out in a pinch. He calls the team very beginner-friendly for Doubles, and finished 122nd in the final Champion rank after a lucky 16-game win streak from 2100 rating.Build article →
The build started from wanting to repeat last season's luck-based game plan built around bulky mons landing sleep or freeze, so the author leaned into a Tailwind Garchomp spamming Avalanche for flinches, then reshaped the team after watching a streamer run Choice Scarf Garchomp with Sinistcha and Incineroar, keeping the Mega Delphox that had carried their ZA story run. Lead Floette (Eternal Flower) clears the way and hits harder than expected. Incineroar's held item is locked in specifically to answer the Basculegion leads that top meta teams almost always bring, then hands the turn to Sinistcha and the Choice Scarf Garchomp to chain Avalanche flinches, while Farigiraf holds down the back as a berry-bulk pivot and Delphox is a narrow pick for mirror matches whose rare setup turns are uniquely dominant. The team finished the M-5 season ranked 126th at 2323 rating for champion tier, and thBuild article →
